Crepes

Well last week the new recipe of the week was suppose to be crepes, but I never did get around to it until tonight. I was really suprised at how easy they were. Maybe it was just the recipe that I used, but it was way easy. Check out the recipe here. I added a teaspoon of sugar like many reviewers recommended. We had some filled with turkey and cheese and for dessert we had them filled with blackberries, raspberries and whipped cream. YUM!
Sorry about the picture, you can see crumbs all over the counter. O well. I'm a caterer not a photographer.

A Proud Mommy Moment

Isaac is my clumsy child. He falls all of the time. Today he fell off a stool and hit his head. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture, but he got a small cut and a bump as a result. I said to him, "Wow Isaac that doesn't look very good." He responed by saying, "If Jesus heals me, that would be good." I just thought it was so cute and it made me happy to know that my little 4 year old is learning, paying attention, and understanding things about the gospel. It was a proud mommy moment.

No TV This Week

This is what our tv will be looking like this week. No picture, so sad. Our stake/ward has challenged everyone to not watch tv for a whole week. So wish me luck. I wish I was so good as to skip the shows all together, but chances are next week I will just be watching double. Instead of watching tv we are suppose to spend more time together as a family. However my kids go to bed at 7pm and I don't typically watch tv till after then anyhow. So I can spend the time with my hubby, oh wait no I can't cause he leaves on a trip for work from Tuesday till Saturday. So Audrey will settle down with a good book and read really slowly. How fun for me.

The Ducky Birthday

Noah's Birthday was on Thursday. Here is a picture from that day:

We just had his ducky party and here are some pictures from that:

The Cake

Noah's Cake

The Food
Noah Playing in balloon bubbles. The older kids at the party got to play some games. Chuck a duck, Ring around the Duck and the Duck Pond.
Opening presents. Noah got lots of fun toys and clothes. His favorite toy was a stuffed monkey from Aunt Kristy. He just hugs it and loves it.
Before Cake. While we were singing Happy Birthday, Noah was so excited he kept swatting at the candle. Luckily no burns.
During cake. He did get messy, but not quite as messy as my other kids did. Noah would just poke his finger into the cake, then pull it out and lick his finger. It was very cute.

After cake Noah needed a bath.

Thanks to everyone who came. We had a lot of fun.

Valentines Week

Sorry I have not posted in a week. Trust me my life is not that exciting that I have to post to often. Well this is what has been going on.
* I tried a new recipe for Valentines Day. Pork Chops Marsala. Check it out here. It tasted pretty good and was easy to make. I would recommend it. Next on the list Crepes. If anyone has any suggestions or helps on that, let me know.
* We went to St. George for the holiday weekend. Parade of homes was going on, so we saw about 12 homes there (one even had a bowling alley in it). I spent a lot of time playing Ticket to Ride, Mexican Train and singing lead vocals in Rock Band. We had a lot of fun hanging out with Kevin's family.
* I have been reading The Other Bolyen Girl. I love, love the story, but unfortunatly there are a few parts that are just a bit much for me. I don't understand why people have to do that, ruin a good story with crap. (Okay it didn't ruin the story because admittedly I am still reading it, I just skip over the bad stuff.)

Meet the Cullens

I am big fan of the Twilight books, they have just announced the Cullen Family. For more info check out the press release here.

P.S. Book 4 comes out August 2nd, I just preordered mine from Amazon.

Not much going on

Here are a few pictures to describe the weekend.

I made my chocolate cheesecake. I have not been able to master the cheesecake. Although it tasted yummy, I always get cracks on the top. Nothing a little chocolate whipped cream couldn't cover up. I also added some chocolate curls and a raspberry sauce. Kevin said it was good, but rich. Just how I like it. He isn't much of a dessert guy. Crazy I know.

I also made cup cakes with the boys. They had fun decorating. Isaac keeps asking for cupcakes and then he just sits and looks at them. Too sweet, I guess he takes after his daddy.

Here are all my boys sitting around playin the Wii. We were inside a lot this weekend because poor little Noah was sick. On Saturday he had a temperature of 104.5 so I decided to take him to InstaCare. Right when I walked in the door, he decided to throw up all over me. So for the next 2 hours we waited to be seen by the doctor while I sat in my sweatshirt covered in throw up. I know, sounds like fun. But I'm a mom and that is what I do. I am just so sad for the little guy who is just laying around, miserable.

Teach Your Kid to Read

Today as I was sitting down doing a "reading lesson" with my little Isaac (he is 4), I thought again about how amazing this book is. We are about halfway throught the book and he is reading so well. We first tried this book (my sis recommended it) on Tanner and he did so well with it and he is a great little reader today. With him I just thought, "He is doing so well because he is real smart." Not that he isn't smart, but now that we are using the book with Isaac, I have realized that is is just the greatest reading book in the world. I highly recommend it.

Rubber Ducky You're the One!

I never thought it would be so hard and cause me so much stress to make a silly birthday invitation, but it did. But the trouble has almost come to an end. I solved my no white ink issue, by using white stickers (and yes it took way to long to put them on, the things a mom will do for her baby). The bubbles in the bath are made with hole punches and wouldn't you know my hole punch decided to stop working, anyway nothing a quick trip to Robert's couldn't solve. Now I just need to print off the inside info and there we have it.

Next up: Tanner wants a Super Mario Brothers Birthday, so it looks like I will have to buckle down and learn photoshop for that one.

Weekend Summary

Another weekend gone. Some highlights:
*The Creme Brulee was good. Suprise Suprise. I made the top part (brown sugar, under the broiler) a little thick, but all else was a-okay. This week I will attempt a chocolate cheesecake, hopefully it goes just as well.
*Noah at 11 1/2 months has finally gotten his first tooth. Yippy.
*Kevin finished framing the basement. We love progress. This week the plumber and electrician get started.
*Saturday we got to go to my nephew Asher's baptism, very exciting.

Creme Brulee, Horray!

For many years I have wanted to learn how to make creme brulee, and today I finally gave it a go. When I was in St. George last weekend I went to Tai Pan Trading (one of my very favorite places) and bought a bunch of the little cups to make them in. Today I went to my favorite recipe site (allrecipes.com) and found this recipe http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Creme-Brulee/Detail.aspx . It doesn't look perfect but hopefully it will taste yummy. We will see later tonight. I'll let you know.
P.S. That picture is not of my creme brulee, but it looked pretty close.
